Scribes and Pharisees request a sign

[1]The generation that seeks a sign is also mentioned in Mark 8:12 and Matthew 16:2.
[2]Matthew is talking about Jonah living in the belly of a whale (Jonah 1:12-2:10) as the sign of Jonah, but Luke is referring to the message that Jonah brought to the Nineveh (Jonah 3). These are distinct. The sign of Jonas is also mentioned in Matthew 16:4 and John 21:15-17.
